Unremarkable….

An unremarkable subject
taken with an obsolete lens
on an outdated mobile phone….

And yet its the first photo I’ve taken in a while that has somehow felt right.

I’ve known for some time that I need a photography project. I’ve told creative friends that there’s something waiting for me that I just can’t quite grasp. (I’m not sure that even makes sense outside of my mind!) I know that if I set off on the wrong path I will quickly abandon it, but I know that if I choose the right project it can be transformational.

Ideas are simmering away in the background. I suspect that once the idea is fully formed it will be in some way connected to the mundane moments that fill most of our lives. I know that it won’t be very Instagrammable but that it needs to be creatively fulfilling. I’m pretty sure it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but as long as I’m creating more work feels right that’s all that matters. I think the words might matter almost as much as the images…..
